Goal: to memorize 16 key Bible verses from September 4 through December 25 (one verse a week for 16 weeks).

Accountability: find at least one other person in the congregation to share your verses with on a weekly basis, at church on Sunday, through the week, etc. Also be prepared to recite verses at various church meetings.

The Verses:

Week #1 – 1 Corinthians 15:58 (September 11) [memorize]
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

Week #2 – Isaiah 40:28 (September 18) [memorize]
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.

Week #3 – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (September 25) [memorize]
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Week #4 – Psalm 27:1 (October 2) [memorize]
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?

Week #5 – 2 Corinthians 12:9 (October 9) [memorize]
And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

Week #6 – Galatians 2:20 (October 16) [memorize]

Week #8 – Luke 16:13 (October 30) [memorize]
No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

Week #9 – Ephesians 6:12 (November 6) [memorize]
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Week #10 – Philippians 4:19 (November 13) [memorize]
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Week #11 – John 6:40 (November 20) [memorize]
For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.

Week #12 – Deuteronomy 7:9 (November 27) [memorize]
Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

Week #13 – 2 Timothy 1:7 (December 4) [memorize]
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

Week #14 – Ephesians 4:32 (December 11) [memorize]
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Week #15 – Romans 10:17 (December 18) [memorize]
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Week #16 – Psalm 34:8 (December 25) [memorize]
O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
