Goal: to memorize 13 Bible verses from January 1 through March 26 (one verse a week for thirteen weeks).

Accountability: find at least one other person in the congregation to share your verses with on a weekly basis, at church on Sunday, through the week, etc. Also be prepared to recite verses at various church meetings.

The Verses:

Week #1 – John 1:1 (January 1) [memorize]
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Week #2 – Hebrews 4:12 (January 8) [memorize]
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Week #3 -2 Timothy 3:15 (January 15) [memorize]
and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Week #4 – James 1:22 (January 22) [memorize]
But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

Week #5 – 1 Peter 1:23 (January 29) [memorize]
for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

Week #6 – Psalm 119:105 (February 5) [memorize] *
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
* Note: You will have to type “Nun.” at the beginning of this verse due to the way verses are stored.

Week #7 – 2 Timothy 3:16 (February 12) [memorize]
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

Week #8 – John 17:17 (February 19) [memorize]
Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

Week #9 – Joshua 1:8 (February 26) [memorize]
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.

Week #10 – Psalm 119:160 (March 5) [memorize]
The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting.

Week #11 – 2 Timothy 3:17 (March 12) [memorize]
so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Week #12 – Deuteronomy 8:3 (March 19) [memorize]
He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.

Week #13 – Psalm 119:89 (April 26) [memorize]
Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.
